On what was another beautiful day in London, Bonnie and I visited Brick Lane yesterday. The purpose of the visit was for Bonnie to meet with someone from the Brick Lane Gallery with regards to an upcoming exhibition.
Brick Lane, set in the heart of the 'East End' of London is a truly multi cultural and fascinating place to visit. Close to the Whitechapel and White Cube Galleries, as well as many smaller venues, the area has been home to numerous up and coming young artists. However, with the Olympic Games scheduled for the summer of 2012 and all the reconstruction that goes with that, property prices are becoming prohibitive, and so one can only hope that this special pocket of London is able to keep its flavour!

The famous 24 hour a day beigel shop

The Brick Lane Gallery - where Bonnie will be exhibiting from the 23rd March til 7th April 2010. I will show Bonnie's web details at the end of this post.

Prior to Bonnie's meeting at the gallery, we ate gnocchi at a Swedish restaurant, then drank Ty Nant Welsh water in a Mexican restaurant. Meanwhile across the road I could see men smoking from a hookah! Multi cultural indeed.
After Bonnie's very successful meeting, we then made our way back to Richmond where we had supper with good friends Jane Carter and Julia Dennis.....and oh were we in for a treat.
Jane, who is an excellent cook, made us this most delicious 'salmon on crute'
Here it is and may your colletive mouths water![]()

and then when you thought it couldn't get better, Jane served a 'lemon meringue pie with a twist' and oh my was it wonderful![]()
The remains!

Now three more of Bonnie's images which are highly symbolic and speak of the area in which she lives. To learn more about these images and Bonnie's work you can visit her website at
